So I was reading today through some of my favourite news sites and one article caught my attention. It was about the new AIG CEO, the new CEO who was in retirement and living in Dubrovnik - Croatia, my own favourite spot has decided he will come out of retirement to work for AIG. His intention is that he can work from Dubrovnik in his villa and conduct his business as usual.

This has got me thinking about todays CEO's and the new paths which they are taking to run firms. Working from home sounds like an awesome option. It is one I have never experienced but I could see the merits in doing it. Also the way todays technology is, does it even matter where you work from?

I know it's kind of weird that I discuss this but I believe the environment in which you work in plays a critical role. Sometimes people are threatend when the CEO works around them, so I guess by working from home this would eliminate such things from happening. Although another issue transpires here - trust. Can these employees be trusted that they will still perform? I know at my previous places of employment I always felt intimidated when I saw the CEO and as such I would perform better, so perhaps in this regard it is critical for a leader to work amongst other employees.
